Think Like A Scientist

Science Savvy Academy is a new local Science option that teaches kids how to actually DO science and develop skills for lifelong discovery, rather than just regurgitating facts.

The program, geared to Jr. High students aged 11-15, is offered by a licensed teacher who spent eight years earning a reputation for pushing the boundaries of traditional education, developing new curricula, and discovering ways to get teens excited about science.

She will travel to your group once per month for a hands-on lab activity, based on the ideas explored in weekly online group discussions.

Weekly Discovery Discussions

50 min live virtual class time each non-lab week
Based on the Socratic discussions
Led by a licensed middle school teacher
Learner collaboration, debate, and discussion to discover scientific principles

Monthly Exploration Labs

2.5 hour lab time once each month
Time to test exploratory skills to enhance the learning done in weekly discussions
Materials are provided and someone else will clean up the mess. :)

Direct access to the teacher to ask any questions or help with any curiosity side projects your learner may voluntarily begin

Flat rate of $300 per semester, and a 1 time lab material cost of $40 on registration
